Various churches in Ravenna and its beach resorts

Throughout the Christmas period, from 8th to 26th December, various churches in Ravenna and its beach resorts will host esteemed orchestras and choirs for traditional Christmas Concerts. 
Must-see concerts at the Basilica di San Francesco include the Young Musicians European Orchestra on 12th December, conducted by Paolo Olmi, soloist Uto Ughi, featuring music by Bach, Vivaldi and Haendel; and Memorial Day 2012 - Mozart and Dvorak: Serenades on 15th December with the Ravenna Chamber Orchestra, conducted by Paolo Manetti and featuring Omar Pedrini. 
Another breath-taking event will be the Christmas Concert: Coronation Mass KV 317 by W.A. Mozart on 20th December at the Church of San Giovanni Battista, performed by the Ludus Vocalis and Ludus Vocalis boy soprano choirs, the Accademia Musicaesena choir and the Arcangelo Corelli Orchestra, conducted by Stefano Sintoni. 
On 22nd December the Ravenna City Band will perform a wide and varied selection of music at the Dante Alighieri Theatre, and then on 26th December the Pratella-Martuzzi Choral Group - Canterini Romagnoli Society will present traditional Romagnol folk songs at the Luigi Rasi Theatre.
On Christmas day, from the afternoon onwards, the Rock ‘n’ Roll Xmas Ball returns to the Artificerie Almagià, a party with a swing theme for young people and for those who feel nostalgic for times past.
There are also events on Ravenna’s beaches: Lido Adriano (8th December, Church of San Massimiliano Kolbe) will host a Christmas Concert featuring various choral groups, soloists and musicians; and Marina di Ravenna (22nd December, Auditorium Room of the Civic Centre) will enjoy Baroque and traditional Christmas music from the Choir of the Basilica di San Francesco, conducted by Giuliano Amadei.
